Here in every district, apart from the temples, there is such a tourist place which attracts the touristers.One of those beautiful places is Dayara Bugyal located in Uttarkashi. Well, there are Bugyals in Uttarkashi with more beautiful views, but the fun that is in Dayara Bugyal is nowhere else.



What does bugyal mean?

In the Garhwal Himalayas of Uttarakhand, where the timber line (i.e. rows of trees) ends at the foothills of the snow peaks, green velvety grasslands begin from there.This velvet meadow is situated at an altitude of 8 to 10 thousand feet because it is a mountainous area.These plains in the Garhwal Himalayas are called Bugyal (alpine meadows).

The largest bugyal of Uttarakhand is Bedni, Chamoli (near Roopkund), it is considered as the court of Vedas, it is also famous for beautiful velvet grasses. Bedni Bugyal is at an altitude of about 11 thousand feet.

Dayara Bugyal Considered to be a great place for trekking as well as camping. Bugyal takes on a whole new look during winters.The top of Bugyal's peak is called Bakriya top. It offers you a spectacular 360° panoramic view. Apart from the peaks of the Gangotri region, you can also see the mighty Himalayan peaks of the Bhilangana range peeking from here. Dayara Bugyal Trek is famous for its astonishing view of the Himalayas. And also famous for Mahadev Temple. It is one of the most famous treks of winter. There is heavy snowfall here in winter. It is a bewilderingly an amusement as an exciting diaspora of beauty of the highest quality in terms of a downpour of ice. If you are tired of the hustle and bustle of cities, you want some time or peace, then this area for you is a more beautiful place than Bugyal and nothing else. Here you can camp and cut yourself off from the world in this paradise for some time. Even the great people of India, personalities like Vivekananda, Gandhi or Ramtirth used to run away from the cities and spend some time in these plains of Uttarakhand.It's treacherous to trek because of the landslides which are unforgiving.   • The best season to trek Dayara Bugyal from May to November, but tourists visit this place during winters as it receives snowfall during the winter season.
  • It will take you around 5 – 6 days to complete Dayara Bugyal Trek. (If your journey starts from Dehradun).
  • The distance traveled to Dayara Bugyal Trek is 23 kms. This includes both to and fro movement.
  • Dayara Bugyal Trek starts from Raithal, Uttarakhand.This trek is not very difficult to do, this trek can be done by those people who are trekking for the first time.
  • Put a hole in your pocket of 8,000 to 9,000 rupees to do Dayara Bugyal Trek. (If your journey starts from Dehradun).
  • In Monsoon, this is one of the best and worst times to go trekking as the roads can be impassable due to landslides, but the scenic view is worth the risk.


WAYS TO REACH

  • By Air :

The nearest airport is Jolly Grant Airport in Dehradun, which is about 200 km from Uttarkashi headquarter. Taxis and bus services are available from Dehradun airport to Uttarkashi.

  • By Railway Station : 

Rishikesh is the nearest railway station from Uttarkashi(about 100 km). Uttarkashi can be reached by bus/taxi from Rishikesh.

  • By Road :

Buses of the state traverse frequently between Uttarkashi and Rishikesh (200 km). Local union transport and taxis run in succession frequently without breakage between Uttarkashi and Rishikesh (200 km), Haridwar (250 km), Dehradun (200 km). From Uttarkashi district headquarter by 30 km road till Bhatwadi/Raithal, then trek route from Raithal.


CONCLUSION:

The special thing about Dayara Bugyal is that reaching there in any season gives a different experience.The season does play a crucial role in determining the path of the trek. A trek in a different season and time adds an aesthetic aspect to it. But when it comes to Dayara Bugyal it is acclimatized to all the seasons which gives a different adventurous experience. You go any time, in every season whether it is winter or summer or rainy, after reaching this place, it will give you satisfied feelings. Although it is famous as a winter trek. It is like a beautiful dream for a trekker to see such a large snow field after snowfall in winter. It is in its own vein of a Palace of Porcelain exquisitely ornamentalist. Nature isn't a word, It isn't just a feeling, It isn't just any other emotion, It is an embodiment of love, a spiritual extravaganza with much benevolence exercised. And also there is a day named Bugyal Protection Day which is celebrated on 16 August every year.
