Get Transcript For Engineering at VTU (Visvesvaraya Technological University) - Required Documents & Process

Transcript are issued by VTU after completing of engineering to students. Transcripts are essential as it tells foreign universities and companies following information:
  • Class: First or sencond explaining it with scores.
  • Medium: Language English, Hindi, Nepali, Kannad etc..
  • Year of joining engineering and completion of same.
  • Total duration of engineering course.
  • Details of university contact details, email, website and address.
Above information are included in transcript including marks and branch details but these information are not provided in marks cards so foreign companies and universities marks cards as important.

Documents required to apply for transcript:
  • Photocopy of all marks cards (8 semsenters).
  • Demand Draft (DD).
  • Letter requesting for transcript to registrar.
  • Application form (Download here)
  • Envelope A4 size.
After writing letter and filling application form submit it and receive transcript.


Procedure to apply and receive for transcript certificate.
  • Get xerox of all marks cards of eight semesters.
  • Make demand draft (DD) in favour of  "Finance Officer, VTU Belgaum" at any nationalized bank. For first copy of transcript certificate you need a DD of Rs. 500/-, if you want extra copy of transcript your have to pay Rs. 300/- for each extra copy. Example: If you want four copies of transcripts you have to get demand draft (DD) of Rs. (500+300x3) = Rs. 1400/-. For detailed fee structure of VTU click here.
  • Write a letter to registrar requesting for transcript certificate mentioning your passed years and other academic details of B.E and personal details in letter.
  • Download, print and fill the official transcript form.
  • Get a A4 size envelope seal it and submit it.
  • Wait to receive transcript from VTU (Visvesvaraya Technological University), Belgaum.
How much to wait?

15-25 days:
If you want to relax at home and receive your transcript then send your documents to VTU in A4 envelope by courier and wait for 15 to 25 days and your transcript will reach at your home.

4-8 days:
You can apply for transcript certificates through regional offices of VTU (Visvesvaraya Technological University). You can apply from any regional offices near you. Get contact details of regional offices of VTU (Visvesvaraya Technological University) here.

1 day:
To receive your transcript certificate in a day you have to visit VTU (Visvesvaraya Technological University) at Belgaum before 10 A.M and submit documents personally. You will receive your transcript certificate after 4-5 hours of submitting documents.

  1. The online Application form is for Online payment. I can find no place to mention Demand draft details.

    Please mention where to find the latest 2017 Application form for attaching DD and send via courier.

    All forms found in internet are old and showing old fee structure (250 + 150) and not the new fee structure as (500+300).

  3. UPDATE: I called VTU and they said that they are no longer accepting demand drafts. It is only through online payment.

    On the online payment page there is a field called Date of Remittance.
    Is this the current date whenever one applies or some other date?

  5. In the application form, there is something called token number. Does this apply to people who have done online payment as well?

  6. Should we submit even back marks card also?
    I had a yb should I submit those?

    1. yes, you need to submit all marks card that you have received during your all semester including back marks card.

    2. in the form it says don't enclose marks card. but you say marks card copy is necessary. please clarify.
